Our client is searching for a creative and confident Media and Communications Officer to join their team. The candidate will support the media team and manager with communication tasks to work across social media platforms and raise awareness on general mental health issues, this will involve writing press releases and answering enquiries from the media.


Main responsibilities

  • Liaise with and respond to enquiries from media, individuals, and other organisations, usually by telephone and email
  • Draft quotes and write comment pieces under supervision as well as press releases supported by seniors
  • Support with social media
  • Create media lists and distribute press releases
  • Deliver, file, and organise administrative documents efficiently
  • Organise events such as press conferences under supervision of the media manager
  • Collate and analyse media coverage



  • Experience of working in communications or policy
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Experience of writing for the media Strong understanding of current affairs and political processes
  • Ability to write clearly and accurately
  • Team player, with the confidence to build networks and maintain relationships
  • Creative person willing to come up with ideas and to “go the extra mile” to deliver tasks and projects
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
  • Experience of responding quickly to media requests and prioritising competing deadlines
  • Experience of computer programmes including (Excel, Word, and Photoshop)
