Company & Role Overview

Our Client in the Education industry is looking for a creative Web Developer to join their team. This role will include actively taking part in promotion of ILT, developing applications and systems and maintain the VLE (MS Teams), intranet(s) and website(s). You will be reporting to the Web Manager.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the development and maintenance of the website
  • To be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Intranets
  • To liaise between marketing and other teams in the maintenance and design, ensuring that intranets and website content is updated promptly as required
  • To keep the website up to date with the latest trends, features and advancements in technologies
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and development of the VLE (MS Teams) and VLE-developed web products
  • To consult with, and advise staff and students in the use of the VLE for online courses and teaching/learning projects
  • To provide training on college systems on an agreed schedule provided by the Senior
  • Web developer or a responsible senior manager
  • To liaise with College staff and managers to produce specifications and subsequent designs
  • for in-house web-based applications and systems
  • To ensure that the VLE, website and intranet content adheres to the Disability and Discrimination Act, General Data Protection Regulations and copyright laws
  • To prioritise workload to meet all deadlines for maintenance and development as required by
  • the senior leadership team, heads of department, teaching staff and students

 

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience and a proven track record in website design, development and management
  • Experience developing and maintaining webbased learning resources
  • Minimum of 1 years programming experience with backend development
  • Has some experience in SQL Server 2008 and 2014 and general database technologies
  • Must have the ability to write effective and supportive training materials
  • Good and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good inter-personal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work proactively with limited supervision
  • Willingness to support and work co-operatively with other staff
  • Exposure to the MVC framework
  • Has knowledge of all current web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Bring news ideas and perspectives
  • Enthusiastic about new and emerging technologies
  • Communicate with integrity
